Commentary By: Gordon King
Earthquakes are on the rise in numbers and intensity, volcanic eruptions continue to dot the landscape, and tensions in the world have the nations unsure of which way to turn!
Matthew 24:7
“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.”
The world is quickly becoming burdened with what seems to be insurmountable obstacles in the quest for peace and security. Isn’t that what everyone wants? We hear the chants from world leaders now throughout the globe!
1 Thessalonians 5:3
“While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.“
There is a heaviness which looms over the face of the earth, something which is not seen but just the same can be felt.
The world of the end times, the last days, the days just before the coming of the Lord, this is where we now find ourselves.
The nations find themselves in perplexity, and many run to and fro, and knowledge is increasing! There are great earthquakes, famines and pestilence, there are terrors and great signs from heaven and in the sun, the moon and the stars!
Luke 21:11
“There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.”
Luke 21:25-26
“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”
Daniel 12:4
“But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
We are now living in perilous times my friends! People of the world have distanced themselves from God, they are selfish, unholy, and unrighteous.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
There will be mockers and scoffers in the last days, saying: “Where is the coming of your Lord, everything is as it has been forever!” Don’t we already see this happening now? Isn’t the world full of scoffers?! Not at all concerned with the things of God, but of their own sinful desires.
2 Peter 3:3-4
“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
Matthew 24:12
“And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.”
Don’t we see an increase in lawlessness now? I sure do! Not only do I see it, but I see it growing substantially.
Jesus tells us that when we see these things we know that the end is near!
Matthew 24:33
“So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!“
The Tribulation Period is near, we shall see this happening when a seven-year peace treaty is signed between the anti-Christ and Israel.
Daniel 9:27
“And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
Stay awake, be alert and do not slumber, for the Lord will come at an hour you do not know!
Matthew 24:42-44
“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Revelation 3:3
“Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.”
It’s time to wake up! The time is near and we must be ready!
Romans 13:11
“Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.”
The Lord has given us knowledge of what the end will look like just before His return to earth. He does not want us to be ignorant of the times, or of the closeness of His coming! We as Christians are His beloved children, children of the Most High God of the universe!
Bible prophecy is occurring now at an alarming rate. Each and everyday world events continue to unravel at a faster pace fulfilling the prophecies of both the old and new testaments! Don’t believe me, search it out for yourselves! Be a Berean, search the scriptures, then search the news archives. Compare them side by side.
This is an exciting time to be alive folks! We have been chosen to live at a time where the world meets God, whether they want to or not! If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then do not fear, rather look to the Lord. Seek God and the things of heaven my friends. And although you may not feel Him or sense His presence, know that He is with you! He shall never leave you nor forsake you!
This is a time to have faith, to strengthen our faith, and to place our trust in the promises of God.

All of Matthew 24 – The Signs of the Times and the End of the Ages speaks of OUR age, OUR era, OUR time.
As you said Gordon, it’s all intensifying. Yet there’s more…. The practices of the old covenant will soon commence with the beginning stages of the building of the Temple, the signing of a peace treaty (the world is clamoring for peace & safety) also in the beginning stages. The lawless one’s declaration (his appearance is already here it’s just a matter of him stating his peaceful intentions) with all the wars and rumors of war, his solutions will be welcomed; ‘the abomination of desolation’ along with what that brings, are the next stages of whats coming. People need to wake up! who are not in God’s grace, who do not have Jesus in their hearts by the deceptions being spewed out… He is they only way to the Father! period! there is NO other way.
With the chart you have made it’s hard evidence of the miserable state this planet is in. Man cannot fit it!
I’m amazed very few people are connecting the dots to biblical history written then for us now. The passing of time declares the authenticity of Scriptures, as again you have stated compare it to the daily news of our day… Very clear is your message Gordon, thank you.
“But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matt.24:13 We will soon say ‘Blessed is HE who comes in the name of the Lord!’
I’m keeping my eyes on the skies and trying my best not to deviate from standing tall in Jesus, knowing when I fall I have Him to confess to and He is just and loving to forgive me, help me. Looking forward to the wedding supper, that’s my goal. God gave us free will to decide for ourselves who we serve. I chose the truth of the Gospel. God bless.

I have been feeling really down lately. I’ve been getting hit from every angle and it’s hard to keep positive. I know God is coming soon but I don’t feel like I’m good enough to go to heaven daily I fail on so many levels. Being a christian gets harder and harder everyday. I live in constant pain and I’m bed ridden most of the time. I rarely get to witness or go out and talk about Gods love. I’ve asked God into my heart and try my best to be like Jesus but is that good enough? The medication I take makes me tired all of the time and I cant function mentally like I used to. Why does God allow this suffering? Why have I been in pain for 7 years? Am I being punished for my past mistakes? All my energy goes toward raising my kids and I have nothing left to give.

Sister Rebecca, I am so sorry to hear of your pain and suffering!
Know this my friend, God is not giving or allowing you to have pain as a punishment! He may be allowing it for a reason however. Most of the time when we are in pain and suffering we are closer to the Lord. I know that this is true in my case.
You are already saved Rebecca! There is nothing that you need to do for God to love you more, nothing! You don’t have to witness, you don’t have to go to church, you don’t even have to read the bible! Doing things in order to be saved or to earn God’s love is “legalism” and has nothing to do with salvation. You are a saved, born again, bible believing child of the living God! You have been sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.
God already loves you infinitely! He could not love you more than He already does, know this and believe this.
We all fail Rebecca, you are not alone in this, none of us are perfect, we all sin. God knows this, yet He forgives us just the same.
Believe me when I say that I know being a Christian is hard, especially now! I have also been feeling sort of down for the past month or so. I feel as though since my father passed away and after my car accident, my memory has been failing me, and I’m tired of having back pain, yet I’ve only had it for two months!
When I feel this way, I think about the apostle Paul and the physical affliction that he had during his years as a disciple of Christ. None of us know what the affliction actually was, yet some believe that it was a visual deficit of some sort. I can partly understand this, because even now I have one of my eyes which gets infected every couple of years for some reason or another, some type of auto-immune disorder which the doctors cannot explain! The pain only last for 2 or 3 weeks, yet at times it is almost unbearable. As I write this to you my eye is very painful, and it gives me horrible head aches. It makes it very difficult for me to think and concentrate, and hard to go to work.
I am not telling you this to diminish your situation Rebecca, only to let you know that I can sympathize with you to some extent. I cannot imagine having pain such as yours for seven years! But you know, the number seven is very significant to God! It represents God, wholeness, perfection, completeness! Perhaps this has a significant meaning for you.
Raising your kids is a very important job Rebecca! One of the most important jobs of all! What could you do that is more giving then that?
The most important thing in life is love, love God with all of your heart, your mind, and your soul! Love your neighbors as you love yourself, and love your enemies!
God loves you Rebecca, I love you also! You are a dear sister in Christ, a blessing to me and I am sure to many others as well!
I pray for the good Lord to take away your doubts and fear. I pray for Him to take away your pain and suffering, to heal you of your physical afflictions if this is your desire and His will. I ask Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit, and to make known to you His presence and His love! In Jesus name, Amen
