Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Fathers Day today copy

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Another year gone by and the sun still shines bright.  Our daily lives are more often than not hurried and busy with tasks and chores.  We don’t always have the time to spend with our fathers.  The time to honor and cherish them as we should.

There are those who may not have had a good relationship with their fathers.  Yet, scripture tells us to honor them.  This is a commandment from God.  We need to forgive them for whatever heartache they may have caused, and replace it with love and honor.

There are those who may have lost their father such as myself.  Yet, we can still honor them by remembering the times that we spent with them.  Remembering the good times and giving thanks to God.

And there are those who may have never known their earthly father, yet, if they are a Christian they should honor their Father in heaven.

Take the time to honor your father.  Give thanks to the Lord for giving you an earthly father.  If possible, spend time with him, thank him, and tell him that you love him.  Show him that you honor him.

We should all honor our earthly fathers, and at the same time we should honor our Father in heaven.  For He has given us life, breathe, and all that we have.

God bless my friends!  Happy Father’s Day!

    ( http://kristiann1.com/2015/06/21/hfd/ ) #Shalom Everyone!!
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

  3. Happy Father’s Day to you also Gordon! I had a rough day because I lost my father on June 21st three years ago. I never realized I could still honor my father just by thinking of the good times we shared. My father’s days in the future will consist of this instead of four using on the loss.
    God Bless You,

  4. I am sorry to hear of your loss Rebecca, I know how you feel, as you are aware I recently lost my father as well. There is always time for mourning the loss of a loved one. I don’t think that we will ever in this life time, get over the sadness that we feel. With that being said, I believe that the best way to honor our fathers is to remember the good times that we shared together. I think they would have wanted that, as well as spending time with our own children and creating good memories for them to remember.
    God Bless!
