Commentary By: Gordon King
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This is true, this is biblical. Yet, while we were still sinners God loved us.
We all have sinned, we all do still sin at times. Yet, as Christians, as children of the Most High God Almighty, we have moved above it. I know that I have said in the past that we are all sinners, and in a sense we are. Yet we have become better than that.
God has given me more clarity on what it means to be saved, to be a child of God. As Christians we must take note that we are much better than “sinners”. This is not to say that we should be proud, arrogant or boastful, on the contrary. Yet, we must be aware of just who we really are in Jesus Christ!
Even as Christians we sometimes stumble, we sometimes fall, and we sometimes sin. We are after all human. But, as Christians we should not be leading a life of sin. We should not knowingly be living a life of sin. When we do we must repent and ask for God’s forgiveness.
We need to know just who we really are and who we represent! This is of the utmost importance! Once saved and baptized with the Holy Spirit, we have become new creations. We have been given a new life, a new spirit. This in and of itself is absolutely amazing and incredible!
But that’s not all, we have become ambassadors of the living God of the Universe my friends! Can you imagine that?! Do you really know what that means? We are saints, we are kings and priests of God Almighty! We stand for what is pure, righteous and holy in the universe, not just here on earth.
“and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
We will judge the world and angels! We will rule and reign with Jesus Christ here on earth for one thousand years during the millennial period. We will serve our God throughout eternity!
1 Corinthians 6:2-3
“Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?”
We are now saints, kings, and priests of God! We are a royal priesthood, a holy nation! We are God’s special people!
1 Peter 2:9-10
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”
Do you realize just how much authority God has given to us? How much power we actually have available to us to perform God’s will on this earth? Actually I don’t think I really truly understand just how awesome this is! He has endowed us with power, strength and courage from above.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.“
We should not take these bible verses lightly my friends, not at all! God actually has given us power and authority. We just need to believe and take hold. Belief, faith. According to our faith! I know this to be true.
I have felt the awesome power of God. I have been anointed by God and filled with His Holy Spirit. I have also been anointed with God’s love! I know it, I have felt it, and it is overwhelming! I pray each day for the good Lord to once again fill me with His Spirit.
God is using us on this earth for His will. He will empower us with whatever is necessary to accomplish this. We must believe, we must have faith. In this we can do all things!
Our minds should be filled with the things of the spirit, not of the flesh. We should keep our minds on the things above, not on the things of this world. For what our minds dwell on is what we shall reap both in the flesh and in the spirit. Feed the mind spiritual things, things of and from God.
As Christians, we were “sinners” but now we are saints! We are kings and priests of God! We are a special people, a peculiar people, given much authority and power. Let us not forget that or who we really are! Amen
As kings and priests of God Almighty, we are to go out into the world and preach God’s word. We are to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to an unsaved world! Preach, teach, lead, and pray.
God bless my friends until next time! Maranatha!
