Commentary By: Gordon King
Hello folks, I hope and pray that this post finds you all well. We are living in perilous times. Times of uncontrollable disease, of natural disaster, of violence and civil unrest. Wars and threats of wars permeate the landscape. We are living in a time of some very unusual occurrences. Giant sink holes, meteor strikes, enormous and powerful storms, floods, droughts, and famine. It seems as though every other day we hear of another air plane crashing and masses of people dying.
It’s only a matter of time before we all succumb to physical death, unless we are raptured out of here first! But what about the lost, the unsaved? They do face physical and eternal death. Without Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, time is not on their side.
None of us know just how much time we do have on this planet, not one of us. Yet there are more people than not, who seem to think that life will just continue on as normal. They seem to believe that death just happens to other people. That they have plenty of time left. But do they?!
Anyone of us could drop dead instantly from cardiac arrest, from an automotive accident, or from some other freak accident or calamity. That’s my point, it could happen to anyone of us at any time. Our time here on earth is limited, we only have so much of it, then its gone. Unless you have eternal salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ! Then you will have life after death, eternal life. There is no other way.
What’s more important than how much time we have left here on earth is where are we going after our time here on earth? There are only two places, heaven or hell. That’s it! No in-between, no side shows, no alternate destinations, only heaven or hell. Where are you going? Do you know?
The only way to heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, that’s it, no other way! The following are scriptures from the bible.
‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ‘
‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ” ‘
There is only one way to heaven, yet many ways to hell. Any other way than believing in Jesus Christ will lead you straight to hell!
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
We all sin, all of us are sinners. All of us fall short of the glory of God. None of us deserve to be saved, it is a gift from God. Sin must be dealt with, it must be paid for one way or another. We either pay for it ourselves by spending eternity in hell, or we can accept Jesus Christ as our Savior who already paid for it all on the cross.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,“
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.“
We cannot enter heaven or see the kingdom of God without first being “born again”. We must be saved by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
‘Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” ‘
Time is definitely not on our side! We all have a short time on this planet. What we do with it and the decisions that we make will affect our eternal destination. However, there is one decision, the most important decision that you will ever have to make, and that is to either accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior or to reject Him. The choice is yours. No one will force you, no one will persecute you for not accepting Jesus Christ. But you will be determining where you will spend eternity.
God loves each and every one of you so very much. Much more than you could ever imagine. That is why He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as a living sacrifice for all of our sins. By accepting Him you have everything to gain, by denying Him you have everything to lose. Think about it!
God bless my friends until next time! God loves you, I love you! Maranatha (Come quickly Lord Jesus)!
