Oklahoma Earthquakes past 12 hours

Swarm of quakes ranging from magnitude 3.7 to 4.0

The state of Oklahoma has been struck with a swarm of earthquakes over the past 24 hours ranging from 2.8 to 4.0 in magnitude.  Five of the quakes, including all over 3.7, occurred within the past 12 hours according to “quakes.globalincidentmap.com”.  All of these quakes are centered north of Oklahoma city.

No reports of damage or injuries have been reported at this time.

While the incidence of a magnitude 4.0 quake is rather common around the world, we are talking about Oklahoma where quakes of this magnitude are rare.  To have this many earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 and higher in such a short period of time is even more rare.
