Commentary By: Gordon King
God is good and His ways are pure. God is Love. Let us as children of the Most High God of the Universe, walk in love as Christ loved us first.
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
As Christians we are to be more “Christ-like”, to imitate God in all His ways. This is being a true born-again Christian.
We as Christ, are the light of the world. We are to shine our light into the darkness exposing the unfruitful works.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
14 Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”
If we are in darkness then we are dead. However, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior then we shall be made alive. We will awake from the dead and Christ will give us light. We will become children of the light. So let us as Christians shine our light into a dark, dark world, leading the way to eternal salvation through the blood of the Lamb.
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
Let us not walk as fools in these end times, because the days are evil and wicked. We must use God’s wisdom which is within us to guide and direct our paths. The Lord is our Shepard, He is our Light, He will give us direction and understanding. Let us therefore be wise and know what God’s will is for us in each of our lives. Let us listen to His voice and follow His path.
Let us all discern right from wrong, good from evil, and truth from lies. Let us not be ignorant of the times that we now live in. Let the love of Christ shine through you, the wisdom of the Holy Spirit guide you, and the power from our Father in heaven encourage you.
Ours is not to know everything, not to be all, but to live like Christ, to live in Him and Him in us. Amen
God bless my friends! Maranatha!
