We can do all with Faith

Commentary By:  Gordon King

Christians believe in the word of God, the entire word of God (at least we should).  Scripture tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  That means that we can do “all” things through the power of God.  We have the power to change, the power to perform His will on earth as it is in heaven.  If we only have faith.

What is faith?

Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is not just believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, it is substance and evidence of God.  It is powerful and God given to us.  We only need to believe and take hold.  Faith gives us the power, courage, and strength to overcome and to move mountains.  With faith we can do all things according to Jesus.

Matthew 17:20

“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

With faith Abraham followed the leading of the Lord into the wilderness to claim an inheritance promised by God.  By faith Moses led God’s chosen people out of the land of Egypt and parted the Red Sea.  By faith the Jews brought down the walls of Jericho by encircling it for seven days.  By faith Noah built an Ark as commanded by God and was saved from world-wide disaster.

As Christians, we have power given to us by God Himself.  We are much more than we realize, and can accomplish much more than we believe.  It is through faith that we can accomplish these things.  Sometimes having faith is all that it takes, at other times we must first take a step of faith.  We need to be bold and courageous and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.  Taking physical action in faith is very powerful.

Many Christians believe, and I have been one of them, that if we just have faith God will take care of everything for us.  This is not always the case.  Most of the time I believe that we need to take physical action.  If we just sit around and wait for God, then we may just keep on sitting around and waiting for God.  He expects us to move, to get up off of our duffs and take a leap of faith.  To trust in Him and what he will do for us and through us.  This is faith.

God loves us and wants us to love Him back.  By taking action in faith, we are loving Him back.  We are showing Him that we love Him and trust Him enough to believe in His words to us.  God has many principles, and faith is one of them, just as you reap what you sow, and give and it shall be given unto you.  Faith is a principle that must be put into practice, developed, and increased over time.  Practicing faith will increase your faith and your relationship to God.

These are trying times that we now live in and are getting worse by the day.  Evil is pervasive in the land, disaster strikes around every corner.  This is the time to use and increase our faith.

We as Christians are much more then we believe that we are.  We are children of the Most High God of the Universe!  We are sons and daughters of the light!  God loves us much more than we could imagine and has given us all that He has.  Jesus Christ has made us kings and priests to our Father in heaven.

Revelation 1:5-6

“…..To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Take comfort in knowing that you are highly valued by our God.  He has given you the power to overcome and to succeed.  With faith and through the leading of the Holy Spirit we can achieve great things!

God bless my friends, until next time!
