These are trying times that we are living in. For the Christian, they can be most difficult. We are living in a world that is not of us. Although it was created by God Almighty, it is in the possession of Satan and his demons. Satan is the ruler of the world and those that reside in it, except of course for the saved.
Jesus Himself was tempted by the devil. Satan offered to give Jesus all of the kingdoms of the world if He would bow down and worship him. This is the case in point, that Satan has possession of the world, as Jesus did not refute his statement.
“Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
“Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.“
1 John 5:19
“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.“
The world is not our (Christians) home, at least not yet anyway. It is a foreign land, filled with unspeakable filth and disgust. There will be times when we are under the attack of Satan and his demons. There are times when we shall endure trials and tribulations, this is even more true the closer we are in our walk with the Lord. We are aliens to this land and to the earth, as we have been born again by the Spirit of God. Our spirits were once dead, but made alive by our Father in heaven, through the blood of Jesus Christ and given the Holy Spirit of God as living water of life.
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
1 John 5:7-8
“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.”
God Almighty is composed of a Trinity. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Many people confuse being born again by the blood and the water as physical water. However, the water represents the Holy Spirit of God. The Spirit (the Father), the water (the Holy Spirit), and the blood (Jesus Christ). Separate, yet one. God the Father and Jesus His Son have many names and representations, so does the Holy Spirit.
“I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
“And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.”
“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
So if you have truly repented of your sins and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you too have living water within you. You are a child of the Most High God, Elohim, El Shaddai, Yaweh, Jesus Christ! We are not to fear what cannot hurt our souls. We are to only fear God, in reverence, submission, obedience, praise and worship. As children of God, we have power and authority over evil spirits and powers.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
God is with us always, He will never leave us nor forsake us.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”
As God’s children we have been given many gifts. We have been given salvation and eternal life, the Holy Spirit and all of His gifts, power over darkness, peace, comfort, and the protection of the Almighty. He has equipped us to handle any situation at any time. We merely need to tap into the resources of God Himself. He tells us to ask and we will receive, as long as it is within His will. He came to give us life, and to give it abundantly, according to His riches in glory. His riches are infinite. He has more than we could ever ask for, and we are the recipients of His inheritance.
Do not be afraid to speak to God, to ask Him for help. He told us to ask Him, with faith, with the belief that He will provide and help us. We are, after-all, His children, his precious possessions. He wants to bless us, to help us, and to see us prosper. He wants us to overcome the darkness and shine His light. This is His will, part of His plan for us.
We don’t always know the ways of the Lord, nor do we always understand why He does things the way that He does. Ours is not to question why, but to trust in Him. Living in this world of madness can be difficult and at times hard to endure. We must remain focused on God and the things of heaven. Just as the saying goes: “You are what you eat”, has some truth to it. What we put into our minds and feed our souls will produce like fruit. This is why it is so important to walk with the Lord daily, pray daily, and read His word daily. We need to build upon our relationship with God. It’s not always easy, and it takes some discipline.
God loves each and every one of us dearly. As long as you are a Christian, then He is always there and ready to help. We may not see Him or hear Him, we may not sense that He is even hearing us or listening to our prayers. But, He is there. Take the time to stop what you are doing and listen. He speaks to us in many different ways. Sometimes in our minds, our senses, through visions or dreams, through other people, through the radio or television, and of course through His word.
My prayers go out to all who are hurting and suffering. May the good Lord touch your heart and mend your soul. May He place His healing hands upon you and fill you with His Spirit, the Spirit of living water. May He lift your spirit, comfort you with His peace and safety. I give you thanks God Almighty, Lord of all. I praise your Holy name and give you all of the honor and glory, for you and you alone are worthy. I believe that you will heal the sick, comfort those in need, and fill them with your Holy Spirit. As I ask for all of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, they shall be done according to your words. Amen
God bless my friends, may the peace and comfort of the Lord be upon you!
