Couples all over central Florida said they plan to exchange vows at midnight Tuesday.
The Joy Metropolitan Community Church is planning to have a “Love Wins” rally before hosting a series of legally recognized same-sex marriages at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
It will be the first time the Osceola County courthouse will be open at midnight, where County Clerk Armando Ramirez will begin to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
“I owe it to my constituents to be fair,” Ramirez said.
The plans are a go, even after what Ramirez called a “last-ditch effort” last week by the group, Florida Family Policy Council to derail his duties.
Ramirez said his legal counsel told him he has the right to issue the licenses.
“They deserve service from this clerk,” Ramirez said.
There will be full staff on duty and security will also be on hand during the ceremonies.
“My only concern is employees who have to be here at that hour,” said County Commissioner Cheryl Grieb. “This has always been about equality.”
Grieb will also be getting married to her partner of two decades.
A Miami-Dade County judge has a hearing Monday morning on whether to lift a stay of her previous ruling invalidating the ban. In anticipation, gay couples married in other states set a mass renewal of vows Tuesday night in Miami Beach.

With all this kind of evil happening, it won’t be long now before the Lord’s return. There are demonic powers pulling the strings and manipulating each and every homosexual relationship and marriage. Man is giving himself (herself) over to do the unnatural. This kind of evil happening in Fla and in our nation as a whole is worse than what it was like in Rome. I don’t accept the argument that it’s only 3-5% of our population that is gay and for this reason they must be treated as a minority and have all their rights granted because of non discrimination. Marriage is an act to bring about union of two human beings one man and one woman before God. Although now I understand that in the Scandinavian countries humans are marrying their animals but that’s a whole another abomination. Regardless of what the quota of homosexual marriages to straight, a micro-drop of poison in a pure glass of water will make it toxic and kill you if you if you drink it. And that is precisely what homosexual marriage is doing to our culture, it’s poisoning it at the very basic core which God has made for His purpose a heterosexual union.
God’s grace and gospel salvation is provided for all humanity and I pray for all to turn to God before it is too late and be saved.
One other point on the subject and that is the squelching of the voice of dissent or freedom of speech against homosexual marriage. Notice how prominent pastors and religious leaders who stand for biblical truth are criticized and threatened as “homo-phobic or “haters” I predict that soon any voice of opposition even spoken directly from the bible could come under threat of prison. That’s right , 5% of the population can literally shut-up the other 95% from having a different opinion. I beg any pastor never to cave in on the issue of homosexual marriage as acceptable. If you do then you are saying that God doesn’t have any standards and the Word of God is not effective for you. An encouraging note is that all this is a sign of Christ’s return being closer than ever because He warned that the generation at his return would be as it was in the days of Lot, pervasive with homosexual sin.
Well said brother! Many good points, just as I would have said myself. Whether or not people choose this life style or it’s a genetic defect, or whatever, it’s still a sin. The marriage of homosexuals is an abomination to the Lord. Any union of homosexuals is a sin, however, if they wish to be united, then let them do it some other way, marriage is holy and sacred and should not be desecrated. This is a great rebellion against God. And I do believe that the time is soon coming for those who speak out against gay marriage will be persecuted at some level, and it will get worse as time marches on. America is headed for judgement, it’s downfall is coming soon!

The truth is the Lord gives us a conscious to discern right from wrong; between good and evil. And society has mixed the two up, has reversed it in such a way that the bad we once thought was evil is now good, the decency and moral values is now bad. The evil one has destroyed the meaning of marriage as Ethin so profoundly states. God bless us all.
The Good Lord is telling us to prepare for His soon arrival, for the times are worst than in Lot’s days. I believe judgment is already here, we can’t seem to win any war we get involve with, we can’t seem to turn the economy around, we can’t seem to relate with one another, there’s chaos all over. This is not blessings upon our land… The blessings come when we abide in Him, when we do the right thing according to His will. He is infinite, knows the beginning from the end; knows what works best in all situations, we distort this truth and follow our own path to dire consequences. Who are we to question our Creator when the worst happens if we haven’t followed His will.
