Water main break in Dallas traps men in cab

DALLASA Dallas cabbie and his passenger were carried to dry land by firefighters Monday morning after they got stuck in high water.It happened because of a water main break on the Interstate 35 service road at Oak Lawn Avenue.

Firefighters carried the men on their backs to safety.

“They were great. They were great. We were hoping they would push us out. I think we were stuck in mud so they carried us out. So they were fantastic,” said Harold Master, who was taking the cab to the airport at the time.

The water has receded, but crews are still working on repairing the leak.

Another cab picked up Masters so he could continue on with his business trip to New York.
