Why can’t you worship in your mosque, and leave our churches alone?” Nov. 14, 2014.

UPDATE: 3:31 p.m. The Muslim prayer service held at the Washington National Cathedral was briefly disrupted by a protester, according to a local NBC report.

“Jesus Christ died on that cross over there!” a woman said loudly, immediately after announcements at the beginning of the service were made. “He is the reason why we are to worship only him. Jesus Christ is our lord and savior!”

According to the NBC report, she continued, “We have built, and allowed you here in mosques across this country. Why can’t you worship in your mosque, and leave our churches alone?”

The protester was then escorted out of the cathedral, News4’s Kristin Wright reported. She was removed without incident, but she continued her protest once she was taken to an adjoining space. SEE VIDEO CLIP OF PROTESTER BELOW

The Episcopal church set in Washington, D.C. altered its visitor tour schedule in order to host traditional Islamic Friday prayers called Jumu’ah. The service was led by South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool, and held in the Cathedral’s north transept, an area considered “almost mosque-like” because of its arches and limited iconography.

Although this is not the first time the Cathedral has welcomed Muslims to join in on its interfaith services and events, it is the first time it has invited Muslims to lead their own prayers within its walls.
Rev. Canon Gina Gilland Campbell was scheduled to offer a welcome to start off the service.

According to the National Cathedral website,Campbell wanted to hold the historic service because she believes that “powerful things come out of praying together.”

The site further explains “Leaders believe offering Muslim prayers at the Christian cathedral shows more than hospitality. It demonstrates an appreciation of one another’s prayer traditions and is a powerful symbolic gesture toward a deeper relationship between the two Abrahamic traditions.”

  1. Thanks for this detailed article on the event Gordon, It’s literally hard to find all the facts about this anywhere else in the news. This prayer was allowed under the scope of political correctness, not wanting to offend anyone. Demonic powers were all over this prayer event as well as the one on Friday where the Imam stood in the House of Representative and gave praise to Allah and opened in prayer to him. I appreciated the woman who made her statements about “Jesus Christ being the only one we worship”, “Jesus Christ is the one who died for our sins.” God will not bless our nation with the heresy of allowing the worship of Allah in our capitol or anywhere else.
I am comforted to know that the Almighty God we as Christians worship is not in some kind of competition with
a pagan god like Allah. When the rapture happens and it will very soon, all those people on their knees and all those around the world will be shocked to realize that they have been worshipping the wrong god all this time.

  2. It’s demonic and apostasy! This is now what’s happening to the so-called church. The true church of Jesus Christ abhors such things. True believers in Jesus Christ must stand tall and rebuke them for what they are doing.
    God Bless Ethin!

  3. Wow Gordon, what’s become of America..?… This ‘political correctness’ has induced/penetrated itself inside the churches in so many ways that it was a matter of time for this to happen. It’s pure and simply a disregard, a disrespect of what the “church of God” suppose to stand for. The trinity of God, which they do not acknowledge, Jesus is not their savior nor in their mind God Himself; this is just a couple of things both “churches” disagree on. And to have this displayed inside a church that does… Is that not contradicting each other??? Wonder if the Pope approves? I have staunch Catholic friends that are very unhappy with where this man is leading them. I truly believe he will be the last one and the one to lead them into a new world religion. The ‘times they be changing.’ America has sinned against the greatest light given, against truth and the way of God.
Amen! to the woman who stood for truth!
The time is here to stand for the truth of the Scripture’s. Stay faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ alone. God bless us all.

  4. There are many churches which adopt values and beliefs which are not based on scripture, in fact go against what scripture tells us to be the truth.
    God Bless!

  5. I agree with you Gordon, about the many churches who are not Biblically oriented, not truly connected to the truth of Scriptures. But instead appeal to the masses. Sad to say. The HOLY Scriptures is God’s word to us, inspired by Him for people of all generations especially ‘the last generation’. We should heed it’s words seriously and with prayer.
When we talk repentance–no one listens, that’s why sin abounds, their lovers of pleasure, then of God. People find reasons to justify sin because of it. God Bless us to realize His truth and to come out of the world’s perversions. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  6. So true Roger, and more Christians need to shine their light into the darkness exposing the evil. God bless this woman for her faith, strength, and courage!
    God Bless!
