“Peace and Security”, Warning! The End of The Age!

^{3 ‘}For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.’

^‘While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.’

Interesting that John Kerry should mention “peace and security”.  Is this just a coincidence or a sign of the times?  In 1 Thessalonians the apostle Paul tells us that “when they say, ‘peace and security’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as in labor pains”.

Paul is telling us that they shall have destruction upon them as in “labor pains” (ESV, some versions say “the beginning of sorrows”, and some describe it in other ways).  Jesus also warns his disciples of the beginning of birth pains.  Jesus tells us when the end of the age will be in Matthew 24.

Signs of the End of the Age^4″And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. ⁵ For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. ⁶ And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. ⁸ All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.  ⁹ Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. ¹⁰ And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. ¹¹ And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. ¹² And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. ¹³ But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Did you notice that Jesus mentions false Christs and false prophets leading astray twice?  He could have just said it one time.  I believe he is letting us know that the deception during this time will be great.  That there will be many who are twisting the truth, deceiving many with lies, delusion, and deception.  This is how the world is today.  Twisted, deceptive, and delusional.

These things must and will take place, all of them.  We now hear of wars and rumors of wars like never before.  We see nation rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.  We see famines and earthquakes in various places like never before.  Many Christians are now being put to death for their beliefs in Jesus Christ.  Christians are hated throughout the world for Christ name’s sake.  Many believers are falling away from the true faith, betraying one another and hating one another.  Just look at the Pope and what he has done over the past year, apostasy!  Look at what we see happening with the merging of Christianity with Islam.  Lawlessness has definitely increased, the love of many has grown cold. 

The only thing we are not sure about is the gospel being proclaimed throughout the world.  Apparently it has not yet happened or we would already be at the end of the age, but it could happen any day.

God is now giving us signs, warnings that His wrath is coming quickly.  The disasters, the evil, violence, hatred, murder, crime, terrorism, climate changes, the fires, floods, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, super typhoons, earthquakes, mudslides, drought, famine, disease, wars, rumors of wars, explosions, accidents, crashes, mass animal deaths, blood red waters, asteroids, solar flares, sink holes, strange and unusual sights and sounds, are all warning signs!

The deception throughout the world, the delusions being spread, the twisting of the truth are all around us.  We are being fed lies upon lies.  What was once thought of as good is now bad and what was bad is now good.  We are being told that Hamas is a humanitarian organization!  What!  Are you kidding me?!  Really?!  We are hearing many world leaders condemn Israel for killing children in Gaza.  Well, as sad as it is, this cannot be helped, especially when you have Hamas using them as human shields.  If it were any other country who has inadvertently killed children as casualties of war then we wouldn’t even be hearing about it, but we are talking about Israel.  Israel has given fair warning to Gaza’s populations prior to these airstrikes, yet we do not hear about that.  Whatever happened to fighting terrorism, has the world forgotten 9-11 so quickly?  Are terrorists now to be treated as if they were good and righteous?

These signs are only the beginning of what is to come.  We are all being warned that the wrath of God is coming, that we are very close to the end of the age.  Things will get much, much worse than they are now.  These things are just the tip of the iceberg so to speak. 

What God tells us will happen to the world during the Tribulation period will happen, He has spoken, and it shall come to pass!

When the Christians are taken out of this world, the evil and the sin will flourish.  There shall be no light to shine into the darkness, no salt to preserve what is good and righteous.  This is when the Anti-Christ will rule and reign, without the power of the Holy Spirit to hold him back.  The evil and terror will be unbelievable, then God shall pour out His Wrath upon the wicked.

The “End of the Age” is right around the corner.  The “Tribulation Period” is at the door.  Let us pray for the lost to see the light before its too late.  Let us pray for them to come to repentance and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Their time is short, our time is short.
