(SOURCE)  A number of flights between Hong Kong and Shanghai have suffered long delays since June 19 amid military exercises in China’s eastern air space, Ming Pao Daily reported on Monday, citing unidentified sources.

At least 65 such flights were delayed or canceled on Saturday, affecting more than 10,000 passengers from Hong Kong, the report said.

The drills were believed to be part of the Nanjing Military Region which covers Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangxi. Of China’s seven military regions, Nanjing is the closest to Japan.
