Commentary by: Gordon King
The world is a very difficult place to live. It’s full of violence, hatred, murder, abuse, loneliness, war, destruction, and confusion. The level of malevolence in the world continues to rise as does confusion and discontent.
Many people fall victim to crime, illness and poverty. Yet they have no idea of what to do or who to turn to for help.
Is there a way out, someone to turn to in times of trouble?
There is a way out, someone who can truly change your life. Someone to give you hope, peace and comfort. That someone is Jesus Christ. He is the only way to heaven. The only way to eternal salvation.
Not only can He give you eternal life, He can help you here and now. Does this mean that we will never have problems in life? No, of course not. In fact, if you are a Christian you will be persecuted by the world, but, He is the only hope, He is the way, He is the truth, He is the Life. Without Him we are nothing and destined for eternal punishment.
‘6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ‘
By accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior you can have comfort in knowing that you are a child of God Almighty. He gives us many promises. God is honest, truthful, trustworthy, and never-failing. He cannot lie, nor does he break His promises. He is righteous, pure and holy.
He will give you peace and comfort.
27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
He shall supply you with all of your needs.
19 “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
He will give us life more abundantly.
“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
He will give us a helper who will dwell with us and in us forever.
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
Believe in Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.
16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
25 ‘Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” ‘
There is much more to being a Christian then I can post in this one article. There is much more in store for us then I can post in this one article. God has a plan for us. A plan of eternal peace, comfort, safety, love and joy. A place with God and for God. It shall be a place never known before.
1 Corinthians 2:9
9 ‘But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” ‘
Don’t wait another minute. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior now, while you still can. There’s nothing that you can do to get saved other than believing in Jesus. Believe in your heart that He is God, was born a virgin birth, died on the cross, shed His blood to cover our sins, was buried for three days, arose and ascended into heaven to be with the Father. That’s it nothing more, nothing less!
Salvation is a gift from God, a free gift, a gift of His grace to us. A gift that is unearned and undeserving. Yet that’s how much God loves us and wants us to be with Him. Accept it now.
