Keep our sights on God and the things above

God Almighty copyCommentary by:  Gordon King

Although none of us are found to be worthy, God is merciful and forgiving, He is faithful, just, and righteous.  His love is never-ending, never-failing.  Only by the grace of God are we saved.  We are given eternal life!  Not just eternal life after we die, but eternal life now and forever.  Amen

There is not one thing we can do to earn our salvation, nothing!  We are not saved by our works, but by the loving grace of God Almighty.  He is the one who saves, not us.  It’s not the cross we bear, but the cross that Jesus was sacrificed on that has all of the power.  Only through the blood of Jesus are we given eternal life.  If this were not true then Jesus dying on the cross was not enough.

We are justified (found righteous) in the eyes of the Lord through the blood of Jesus Christ.

We are sanctified (becoming holy) through the workings of the Holy Spirit of God.  It’s a process which continues until we meet our maker in heaven.  This process makes us more Christ like, holy, and pure.

God is worthy of our praise, worship and adoration.  He is holy, pure, and righteous.  He is love, kindness, mercy, and truth.

Let us as believers not forget our place, nor lose sight of where we belong.  For it’s the things from above which guide our path and strengthen our spirit.  It’s the Lord of the universe who supplies our needs, shelters us from the storm, and protects us from our enemies.  We are His children, we are saints of the Most High.  We are priests of Jesus Christ.

Lord in heaven, hear my prayers.  I come before you in humble adoration and praise.  I worship you and only you, for only you are worthy.  I pray for you to make me pure, holy, and righteous.  I pray for you to keep me close and never let me stray.  I pray that I keep my sights on heaven and the things above, that my worship of you never ceases.  Only you are worthy oh Lord.  Holy, holy, holy is the Lord my God, worthy of my praise, worthy of all honor and glory.  Amen

Revelation 4:8,11

8 “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come.”

11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

God Bless!
