Commentary by: Gordon King
“19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Is this true for you? Does God supply all of your needs? Does He fulfill all of your hearts desires?
Well, as for me, He does supply all of my needs, absolutely He does. Does He fulfill all of my desires? No. Without a doubt, no. Why is that? Just as this bible verse says, He shall supply all of your “needs” not all of your “desires”.
Does this mean that He will never supply us with the desires of our hearts? The answer is no. He will supply us with desires of our hearts if it is His will for us. So I cannot say that if you walk close to God and are pleasing to God that he will definitely supply you with all of the desires of your heart.
However, I do believe that God wishes for us to be happy. To live a full and joyful life while here on earth. That if our desires our righteous, pure and holy, He may at His will supply us with the desires of our heart.
“4 Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.”
We must commit our life to the Lord, walk in His ways, and trust in Him. Then He shall give us the desires of our heart, as long as they are righteous and according to His will for us.
God loves us, we are His children. He wants the best for us and to see us happy. I truly believe this.
“28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
This does not mean that we shall not endure hardship, persecution and trials. If we are true Christians then we will. But God has more in store for us than that. How much do you love your children and wish the best for them? How much more would you do for your children if you could? So how much will God do for us if we love Him and put our trust and faith in Him?
Something to think about.
God Bless Everyone! May the Love and Peace of the Lord be upon you! Amen
