Rev. Billy Graham’s health is declining, son says

Evangelist Billy Graham, seen three years ago, is in declining health, his son said Friday.

The famed 95-year-old evangelist’s son said prayers are welcome and that ‘I’m not ever sure he knows Nelson Mandela has passed away,’ one day after the beloved South African president’s death.

The Rev. Billy Graham’s health is declining, said his son, who added prayers are welcome at this time.

“I’m not even sure he knows Nelson Mandela has passed away,” Franklin Graham told WSOC-TV Friday, one day after the beloved South African president’s death.

“I know that he would appreciate your prayers,” he added.

The world-renowned evangelist was hospitalized late last month with a respiratory congestion issue.

His is two-day hospital stay came less than two weeks after he celebrated his 95th birthday on Nov. 7.

“He got an infection right after his birthday and he just hasn’t been able to get his strength back,” his son told the station at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, N.C. “His vitals are good, he’s just extremely weak.”
