National Weather Service confirms tornado in Atlantic Beach

According to the National Weather Service, an EF2 tornado touched down at Ocean Sands Condominiums in Atlantic Beach at 10:18 p.m. on Nov. 26.

(SOURCE)  CARTERET COUNTY –  The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Carteret County Tuesday night.

According to the National Weather Service, an EF2 tornado touched down at Ocean Sands Condominiums in Atlantic Beach at 10:18 p.m. on Nov. 26.

The EF2 tornado, with wind speeds between 111 to 135 mph, touched down at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday at Ocean Sands Condominiums on West Fort Macon Road in Atlantic Beach, according to the NWS. Parts of the building’s roof have been ripped off or caved in. Two people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, officials said.
