Isaiah 19 “A Prophecy Against Egypt”

Prophecy Being Fulfilled

1 September 2013

The Arab Spring, Islamic uprising, riots in Cairo, millions of Egyptians protesting with violence, evil and murder.  The Muslim Brotherhood once in power, is now rioting against the military government in protest.  Egyptian killing Egyptian, brother against brother.  This is all prophesied thousands of years ago by the prophet Isaiah.  The Nile river will dry up, fields of crops will wither and there will be no more fish to catch in the river.  Then the Lord will cause Israel to bring terror to the land of Egypt, and the Egyptians shall shudder in fear and terror.  This prophecy is now being fulfilled, but will not be complete until the remaining Egyptians turn to God and accept him as their Lord and Savior, then God will call them his people.

19 A prophecy against Egypt:

See, the Lord rides on a swift cloud
    and is coming to Egypt.
The idols of Egypt tremble before him,
    and the hearts of the Egyptians melt with fear.

“I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian—
    brother will fight against brother,
    neighbor against neighbor,
    city against city,
    kingdom against kingdom.
The Egyptians will lose heart,
    and I will bring their plans to nothing;
they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead,
    the mediums and the spiritists.
I will hand the Egyptians over
    to the power of a cruel master,
and a fierce king will rule over them,”
    declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.

The waters of the river will dry up,
    and the riverbed will be parched and dry.
The canals will stink;
    the streams of Egypt will dwindle and dry up.
The reeds and rushes will wither,
    also the plants along the Nile,
    at the mouth of the river.
Every sown field along the Nile
    will become parched, will blow away and be no more.
The fishermen will groan and lament,
    all who cast hooks into the Nile;
those who throw nets on the water
    will pine away.
Those who work with combed flax will despair,
    the weavers of fine linen will lose hope.
10 The workers in cloth will be dejected,
    and all the wage earners will be sick at heart.

11 The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools;
    the wise counselors of Pharaoh give senseless advice.
How can you say to Pharaoh,
    “I am one of the wise men,
    a disciple of the ancient kings”?

12 Where are your wise men now?
    Let them show you and make known
what the Lord Almighty
    has planned against Egypt.
13 The officials of Zoan have become fools,
    the leaders of Memphis are deceived;
the cornerstones of her peoples
    have led Egypt astray.
14 The Lord has poured into them
    a spirit of dizziness;
they make Egypt stagger in all that she does,
    as a drunkard staggers around in his vomit.
15 There is nothing Egypt can do—
    head or tail, palm branch or reed.

16 In that day the Egyptians will become weaklings. They will shudder with fear at the uplifted hand that the Lord Almighty raises against them. 17 And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified, because of what the Lord Almighty is planning against them.

18 In that day five cities in Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the Lord Almighty. One of them will be called the City of the Sun.

19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the Lord at its border. 20 It will be a sign and witness to the Lord Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them. 21 So the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge the Lord. They will worship with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the Lord and keep them. 22 The Lord will strike Egypt with a plague; he will strike them and heal them. They will turn to the Lord, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them.

23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24 In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. 25 The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”

  3. Thanks for your comment Jody. I don’t mean to give you such a long answer, however, the answer is not quite so simple as yes or no, and I could keep going on, but I tried to keep it short.

    This is the way I see it, ISIS, Islam, are attempting to take over the world, through coercion, submission, and brute force! They claim to be a religion of peace, yet are anything but that. They lie to promote their religion, they twist the truth, and they replace good with evil. Sounds a little Satanic doesn’t it? So in answer to your question, I would say yes, most definitely!

    This hatred of Islam against the Jews started thousands of years ago with Abraham’s sons, Issac and Ishmael. Issac fathered Jacob and the nation of Israel, Ishmael the Arabs. The Islamic religion began in 610 AD, by Muhammad. Ever since then they have been fighting against the Jews, because they say that God gave His “promises to Abraham” to Ishmael and not Issac. However, this is all a ploy of Satan. What we see now happening in the world (i.e. Paris and Syria) is a result of all of this, and an escalation of the same. The end times will usher in a “false” peace, a “false” sense of security for Israel. Then all hell will literally break loose!

    God tells us in His word that these things will happen in the end time. He told us that there would be deception, false prophets, and false teachers. The apostle Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 3:1-5

    “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

    In the book of Revelation 20:4 the apostle Paul writes of beheadings:

    “And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”

    And what do we see now in the world? Beheadings! This is the most common way for ISIS to kill their captives. Who would have ever thought just a few short years ago that this would be the case?

    ISIS believes that they are doing a service for god when they kill Christians and Jews.

    John 16:1-4
    “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. 2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.”

    We do not fight against flesh and blood, but against evil spirits and demonic forces. ISIS / Islam is controlled by these demonic forces and I believe many of them are demon possessed. In the last days evil will increase, the love of many will grow cold. Don’t we see this happening now with ISIS?

    One very specific prophecy which I believe is being fulfilled right now is Isaiah 17, the destruction of Damascus, located in Syria by the way.

    ISIS is just part of the growing coalition of religions throughout the world, part of the Tribulation period’s “One World Religion”, which will play a major role in the Anti-Christ’s rule and reign. And whomever does not receive the Mark of the Beast will be be-headed.

    Revelation 17:4-6
    “The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 And on her forehead a name was written:

    6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.”

    We see the formation towards a “One World Religion” already in the works. Many people believe, including Oprah Winfrey leading the way, that all religions and beliefs get a person to heaven. This is all part of the melding of religions into a One World Religion.

    Satan and his demonic forces are on the rise, this will happen before the Tribulation Period begins and get even worse afterwards. ISIS is playing a major role in this Satanic uprising. Read my post: “The Islamic Uprising!”

    ISIS is not shy in proclaiming that this war they have made against the world is a religious war, a Jihad! A war against specifically Jews and Christians, does this not sound Satanic?

    Hope this was enough to answer your question Jody, and not too much to confuse you. There is no direct prophecy about ISIS attacking Paris or Syria that I know of, however, if we read and study scripture then we can see that they are a part of it.

    I found a very interesting article on the internet, you may want to check it out: “ISIS in Bible Prophecy”, by Craig C. White. I have not read the entire article, however it seems very informative. Just so you know, I am not affiliated with this site nor am I promoting it.

    God bless sister! Maranatha!
