The “Rapture” of the Church

Future Prophecy  (Imminent)

Most of us have heard of the “rapture” of the church.  The catching up into the air of believers in Christ.  Their bodies shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye.  Jesus will come down from heaven into the clouds, and in an instant change our bodies and meet us up in the air.  Then we shall be with the Lord forever.  There is nothing else that needs to happen for this event to take place.  It could happen at any moment.

1 Corinthians 15:51-54

51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Revelation 4:1-2

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

  1. There are still some things that did not happen yet : The Holly Temple need to be rebuild and the Antichrist will go and sit in the Holly Place and proclaim himself God :
    Matthew 24:15-33
    New International Version (NIV)
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.

26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

29 “Immediately after the distress of those days

    “‘the sun will be darkened,
    and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[b]
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[d] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door.

Yes that moment its very close,if 2000 years ago apostle Paul say that the time it’s close, now it’s at the door! Thank you God for your Grace, for your Son Jesus Christ ,he died at the cross so antibody who believe in Hem can escape Hell and live the eternal life in Heaven in the presence of God ! The door to Heaven it’s still open,Jesus Christ is the door, enter now you are still on time, until that day will happen!Don’t waist any more days, don’t wait another hour you never know when your end will come..there may be another year or 10 or 20 until that day, only God knows when, but for you today or tomorrow it may be the last day on this planet, once you gone and you where not right with the Lord, there is no way back, you will be forever separate from God,the Bible describes Hell as being a dark ,lonely place full of pain ant other unimaginable bad thinks ,but the worst of all will be the completely separation from God! Remember that there can be only two places Heaven or Hell, there is no middle one, choose wisely, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord, let Hem rule your life and fallow what He give us to do in the Bible and you will be saved! Amen!

  2. The temple will be rebuilt before the “abomination of desolation” occurs, but not “the rapture of the church”.
There is nothing else in bible prophecy that needs to occur prior to the rapture of the church.

Matthew 24:15 is speaking to the Jews during the Great Tribulation, not to the church. He is speaking of two different events happening in chapter 24. Compare scripture with scripture. It will reveal itself.

    God Bless!

  3. Hi Gordon King,
Yes I know that 24:15 refers to the Jews ,what I actually wanted to point out from all the above verses are the 24:15 and 24:30-31. In 24:15 it say that before Antichrist will show up there must be the Holly Temple rebuild, and He will physically go sit in the Temple- it say that fallow that happening “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. ” and the 24:30-31 describes the rupture, when everybody will see Jesus in the sky and the angels :” will gather his elect from the four winds”. Are you agree on this? If yes, than you must agree on that there is a prophecy that still need to happen:rebuild the Holly Temple. Now,if you don’t want to consider this as being a prophecy, it’s ok, name whatever you like,I only want to point out that there is still something that needs to be fulfilled. As a matter of fact, I know that there is a Jewish org. that already have build some of the temple tools-maybe all- and so and they ready to start the building when the day will come and also that the actually location of the temple it’s not where the muslin where told it was when they had build the mosque 🙂
Please explain me with the Bible verses if you think I am wrong, this is a subject that I read many times about and I think I got a pretty clear understanding of it.
    God Bless!

  4. You are confusing two different things in the bible. When Jesus returns in the clouds and all can see him is his “second coming”, totally different from the rapture of the church.

I wrote about this. Instead of trying to explain it now, I will give you the link to the page if you would like to read it?

    https://endtimebibleprophecy.wordpress.com/2012/12/10/the-rapture/

See if this helps. It takes a lot of studying and listening to Godly people explain these things to fully understand.

You are correct that the Temple must be rebuilt and the abomination occur, then the battle of Armageddon just prior to the “second coming” of Christ. However, Jesus will come back before that, however, he will not set his foot upon the ground. That is the difference. In this instance he will only come in the clouds and gather his children up to meet him.

In the “second coming” of Christ he will actually come down and land on the earth, every eye shall see and every knee shall bow. The rapture of the church is a private event, only the raptured will see him. He comes like a thief in the night. How would the second coming of Christ be like a thief in the night if everyone could see him coming and there is lightning from the east to the west? Many Christians get hung up on this and confuse them.

    God Bless!

  5. Ok I will read the link first and then we may continuing the discussion. However ,you say that at the second rupture He will actually put the feet on the ground, which I totally agree. But then there is a contradiction on what you say,if you state that verse 30 refers to the second coming and not to the rupture, because on that verse it say that He will send angels to gather the choose ones.So if Jesus will literally put the feet on the ground at the second coming-we both agree on this- why he will first send angels to gather the chosen ones and meet them in the sky? The rupture it’s been referred as the moment when the church will be lifted up in the sky to meet Jesus. I will now red the link,
    Thank you!

  6. Do you mean “rupture” or are you speaking of the “rapture”? Rupture is when something breaks or bursts.

As for your question, I think you are referring to Matthew 24:31 not Matthew 24:30.

31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

This is speaking of Jesus gathering his angels and saints that are in heaven to come down to earth with him for the “second coming”.

By the way, do you think there will be a rapture? And if so when do you believe it will occur? This may help me to help you. I have a feeling that you think the rapture will be when Christ returns at his second coming? This cannot happen. We (the church) need to be in heaven with Jesus for the wedding and wedding feast prior to the “second coming”. How can this happen if the rapture is during the “second coming”?

    God Bless!

  7. <<>>

Ok so I copy/paste part of the text you wrote. You say that the rapture will be ” secret” , but then you agree that will happen in the clouds.. so how will something happening in the clouds will be secret?Maybe will be a really cloudy day? 🙂 even so maybe a plane will pass by and no more secret 🙂

My understanding is that first the church will be caught up in the sky to meet Jesus and this way it will be safe from the upcoming punishments etc..I don’t think after the rupture Jesus will go away and come back again later.

Yes I meant rapture,my bad , and also you right referring to verse 31

Good reading on your article, now at the end of the day, doesn’t really matter who’s right on this, most important is to be ready for that moment,if we right or wrong will not make a difference,if we right with God we will go to Heaven! Amen!

    God Bless!

  8. You are right brother, it does not matter. What matters is being saved. Amen

To answer your question about Jesus being in the clouds for the rapture. He will be in the clouds but will not be visible to anyone but those that are raptured. When the rapture happens, no one will see us but God and his angels, along with all of the other saints.

    Anyway, keep studying.

Just remember, the most important thing is to walk daily with God. Stay close to him.

    God bless!

  9. I have to admit, some of what you say makes sense, some maybe not as much, but at least we both agree on the most important! It is not easy to understand all prophetic verses because God did not wanted too, if He would really wanted than He will even specify a time and date! As a matter of fact, referring to the rapture Jesus said that is not for us to know the exact moment.
Yes I do keep studying the Bible every day, and I always ask God for help ,wisdom and correct understanding of His word!
I say the same brother ,stay close to God and one day will meet the Lord Jesus in the sky!Amen!God Bless you and the work you done with this web site !
