Jesus is Coming Soon! Are You Ready?

Jesus is coming be prepared copy

Commentary by: Gordon King

The world we live in is an ugly place.  Evil, violence and apostasy rule the day.  Demonic spirits rule the night.  Spiritual warfare is manifesting itself in the physical realm.  What we see happening in our day-to-day lives is often occurring first in the Spirit world.

Satan / Lucifer is, according to Ephesians 2:2 “The prince of the power of the air”.  He not only controls the inner heavens but also the earth.  His time here is short before the return of the Lord.  He knows that he has little time, therefore he is beginning to “raise hell” before the end.

What as Christians, should we be doing in these last days here on earth?  What should we be focusing on?  Well, as true followers of Jesus Christ, we should be doing the will of God in our lives.  We should be spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Good News.  That Jesus was sacrificed on the cross, died, was buried, raised from the dead after 3 days, and ascended into heaven.  That he is the only way to heaven and eternal life with God.

We should be trying to get as many people to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, before the “rapture” of the church.  Many people say that the rapture is not even mentioned in the bible.  I say:  “HogWash!”  Of course it is.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

“13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

The term in verse 17 “caught up” is translated from the Greek “Harpazo” meaning “rapture” or “caught up”.

The above bible verses from 1 Thessalonians clearly states the “rapture’ of the church.  And therefore encourage one another with these words.  Well, it is encouraging to know that the Lord will rapture the church before the “Great Tribulation”.  Amen

So we need to prepare for the coming of the Lord, first by loving God with all of our heart, soul and mind.  Secondly, performing the will of God in our lives.  Thirdly, spreading the “Good News”.  We need to stay focused on God, the things of heaven and the truth.

Should we be afraid and fear what is coming?  If you are truly a born again Christian, then no.  God is with us and loves us.  We are his beloved children.  If you are not a Christian, then yes!  You should fear what is coming.  You should fear God.  For, he is coming to judge the world.

Make sure that you are ready to meet your maker.  Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.  He loves you dearly and wants to spend eternity with you.

 Accept Jesus now!         Get Saved!

  4. It seems that whenever I try to prepare my family for what I think is upon us, the tribulation, they do not want to hear it. None of them. They are terrified of the whole concept. I tell them it’s in the Bible, it is going to happen, and I think very very soon. They all believe in God, although they do not go to Church often. Jesus wants us to spread the word, preach the Gospel. I’m trying, I pray for them all to wake up. I think it is because they are all relatively young, in their early 40’s and have not done all that they wanted to do in their lives, they fear hearing about it. Any advice on how to reach them. Even my elderly aunt who is 90 does not to hear any of what I have to say. I

  5. I am going through the exact same thing. It is to be expected. That is why Jesus had to leave his home town to preach the word of God. They did not believe him. It is so sad, but true. Many people call themselves Christians, but are they really? If they are then they should be walking with God daily. I know I have also been a culprit of this as well, walking away from God.

The best advice that I can give you is to pray for them. Put it in God’s hands and see what he does and tells you to do. God can do anything, but he will not try to change our will.

    God Bless!

  6. trust in god pray to the lord that he opens up their hearts their eyes and ears have faith anything and everything is possible thru christ may god bless you and your family in jesus name amen

  7. Hey, I understand how upsetting it can be when the Lord has opened your eyes to thing and your loved ones won’t hear you. Gordon is right when he said to pray and put it in God’s hands. Have faith that He will open the eyes of their hearts. And when you pray, plead the blood of our Lord Jesus over them for wisdom to the Word, and that the Lord would draw them near and give them a desire to know Him. Don’t give up sharing the truth that the Lord has put on your heart, but remember to always approach them in love. And as hard as it is, try not to get to frustrated. I have had these same things going on with my family. It has taken sometime, but but God’s grace and to His glory, now my husband is listening and my 15 year old son is starting to.

  8. When I was younger, in my twenty’s and late thirty’s, I was so lost, being pulled by family members, back and forth, about the Bible, about life, about how I was too live, and I believed them but couldn’t understand why it was always me that caught the heat over everything. I began drinking to ease the pain, hung out with fun people that partied to add life into my life which was not a life at all, and would turn to whomever for attention, appreciation, approval, guidance for my family totally degraded me endlessly. Up to two years ago, finally I was nearly on my death bed and made a choice that never in a millions years would I have made and that was to live alone and be with God, alone. I did not know why but it was the only thing that seemed right in my life and I felt safe for once. Immagine living secluded, alone and feeling safe? But it was as if I was pulled to do so and far away from my demanding abusive family. But God showed me many things, that I was not as they were that I had a mind to think for itself and it is like my family and other family’s just do not think for themselves nor want you to think for your totally wrong!! They never let you live a thing down, yet they constantly commit sins daily and seem to believe that that is Life and it is not Life at all. I mourned so long, so very very long over leaving them, but I never had them to begin with when thinking about it. They tell me no one can change and that is not true for God changed everything in Me, but I had to leave them All and find the path to God’s heart, not their path or to thier heart and in doing so, I became very whole, but unfortunately they are not and when I try to tell them that soon Jesus is coming, they do not want to hear or think of me as crazy but they thought Jesus was crazy too! I am a terrible sinner but in reality, if any of those sins had not been made, I am certain I would never have had the wonderful opportunity to feel compelled to live Alone and search for God, search for a purpose to my life for everyone had taken that purpose away and I had allowed them too for I loved them so much and take full blame for everything but they are blameless it seems and I tell myself that it is between them and God for their accountability not for me to judge at all for now I am to find my peace and go into it and allow God to do as he must, they did not listen to Jesus, nor did Adam and Eve listen to God, But, I still pray and know in my heart that if God can save a great sinner as myself, then certainly he will them, in time but Time is running out and the closer it gets too running out, the greater and faster sin seems to spin like a spinning wheel and I get so afraid at times but then I reach up and hold onto Jesus’s hand and reach in my heart and feel his heart beating in mine and I know, somehow, I know, it will be alright. Altho your a born again Christian, the natural takes over and fear grips you but then you stand firm and remember the three temptations of Christ and how he said he overcame the world to be of good cheer, He would not say that if in the end, it would not somehow be alright so I look so forward to my Life now, Now, not the future for we have Jesus Christ in us Now and all we need Now and rather than seeing is believing, it is believing is Seeing that you Know, somehow, it will be alright and that is what free’s you if you never forget it, the Promise that he is always with us unto the End of Time. May God bless America, our Nations, our enemies, our family’s, neighbors until we walk with power from among high that Nothing can shake us, Nothing….. in the name of Jesus for soon, He is coming. He came to save us, not shame us, as the world shames us and can not save us, but we are ashamed no more, praise God!

  9. Amen Frani! I feel your pain of family not accepting of your beliefs. I think that many of us if not most of us, are dealing with the same situation. All that we can do is pray for them to believe, it is up to them whether or not they accept Jesus into their hearts.

God is with us, keep the faith, the end is near! God Bless

  10. Thankyou so kindly Gordon, you have great faith and we have to believe with all of our hearts that this too will pass, especially with Fema in region 3, Ison manuvering thru the skies on Christmas, comets breaking thru the belt of the solar system, astroids, fearful signs in the skies to come, this may awaken the ones we love so dear, I have odd prophetic dreams and this last one I had was really a spooky one, yet the Lord was with me and is with me as He is with us All. Thank God we are not alone Gordon!

  11. From what you write it sounds like you preach the fear of Christ´s coming more than the greatness of God. Make God attractive, make church attractive. If that does not work now, then keep doing it and wait.

  12. Thanks for your comment John!

I don’t agree with your analysis John. Apparently you haven’t read much of what I have written in the past. We must preach the truth, not just bits and pieces of it, but the whole truth of God and the bible. It’s not the fear of Christ’s coming, it’s the fear of what is coming after death without Christ! Jesus Himself taught this, and if so shouldn’t we preach the same? The bible teaches about heaven and hell, shouldn’t we be doing the same?

I am not afraid to preach the truth, whether or not people like it. I am not here to serve man, but God, not to please man, but to please God!

Let us not water down the truth in order to please the hearts of men, but preach the truth in order to convict man of his sins and lead him to Christ. Many will not like what I write because it is not pleasing to the ears, but rather it reaches down into the depths of the soul.

I write with conviction of the truth, why? Because it is a serious matter, and because the time is close at hand. God doesn’t need me to make Him attractive, He is who He is, He defends Himself. God’s word never returns to Him void!

    God bless John!

  13. Would I be able to use a copy of the blue picture above that says “Be Prepared Jesus is Coming Soon!” as my facebook profile picture? Do you have copyrights to this picture?

  14. Cheri, I clipped the photo of the sky from somewhere, don’t remember where. Then I did the rest. I don’t mind if you use it.

  15. Yes I believe Jesus will come to take His church. I am ready to go with Him and will be ready.
