7.7 Magnitude Earthquake Hits British Columbia

On Saturday, October 27, at 8:00 pm pacific standard time, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook western Canada.  No reports of major damage has been reported at this time.   Many people have been evacuated however.  Tsunami warnings were issued for the Hawaiian Islands.  This has been the largest quake to hit Canada since 1949.   Canada was hit at that time with a quake of 8.1 in magnitude.
